LÜM's purpose is to provide our users with an experience built to empower emerging and independent artists through our community. Harassment, violence, hate speech, and other types of similar behavior designed to harm or discourage other users diminishes the effectiveness of our community. LÜM's commitment is to uphold our community standards and ensure a safe space for all users.
Failure to comply with LÜM's Community Guidelines may result, with or without prior notice from LÜM, in the suspension or termination of your account on LÜM.
Safety
Violence
LÜM upholds a positive atmosphere for the community. We do not tolerate any use of intimidation or threats of violence between users or against the community. Any threatening content will be removed when it is reported. LÜM will also remove any content that promotes or incites violence against others.
Harassment
LÜM does not tolerate repeated, unsolicited, or unwanted behavior against other users including targeted harassment, abuse, intimidation, or provoking others to do so.
Hate Speech
LÜM will not tolerate content or behavior that promotes or encourages hatred, discrimination, or violence against others based on race, cultural identity or ethnic background, religious beliefs, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Objectionable Behavior
Inappropriate Content
You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within video, photo, cover art, or in profile or header images. Media depicting sexual violence, hateful imagery, and/or assault is also not permitted.
Nudity and Pornography
You may not post or share intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or distributed without their consent.
Pornography is content that is predominantly sexual in nature, or that could be perceived as an aid to sexual gratification is not allowed on LÜM's platform. This includes, but is not limited to, images containing nudity and recordings or detailed descriptions of sexual acts.
Spam
Spam on LÜM is generally defined as repeated, unwanted, and/or unsolicited actions, whether automated or manual, that negatively affect LÜM users, LÜM communities, and/or LÜM itself.
The following are examples of behavior that may be considered spam and are subject to removal/suspension:
- Sending large amounts of private messages to users who are not expecting them
- Repeatedly posting or commenting the same or similar content in feeds, comments, or hashtags
- Following and then unfollowing a large number of accounts to inflate one's own following count
- Linking to harmful third-party content, such as malware, phishing, deceptive pop-ups, etc
- Coordinating with or compensating others to engage in artificial engagement or amplification
- Repeated false reports and flags of other users and content
Platform Manipulation
You may not use LÜM’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information, content, or users or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts users’ experience on LÜM. Fake activity or misuse of the service is not tolerated. Further, using any service, behavior, or coordinated activity to boost your or other account’s popularity (e.g. increasing your followers, likes, gifts, or plays) is not tolerated.
Organic engagement and genuine connection is what powers this music community. For this to work effectively, the platform must maintain its integrity and limit bad actors from manipulating the community’s preferences. LÜM will take specific action to prevent this type of behavior.
Reporting
Posts
In the upper-right corner of a post, you’ll see a drop-down option. Clicking this will give you the option to either block a user or report a post and the reason for reporting the post.
Comments
When viewing comments, you can swipe left on a comment to display the options to Block, Report, and Delete (if your own post) that specific comment.
Users
To report a user, please email support@lum.fm and provide us with the following
- Your user handle (e.g. @lum.official)
- The user handle of the user you are reporting
- The reason for reporting that user
Blocking Users
To block a user, go to their profile and click the three-button submenu in the upper right-hand corner. Blocking a user removes all conversations between you and that user and the ability for you and the blocked user to see or interact with each other's profiles or posts.

In addition to blocking users, we encourage users to report other users and content when they have demonstrated or depicted violent, hateful, harassing, or inappropriate behavior.
Account Termination
LÜM reserves the right to disallow, cancel, remove or reassign certain usernames and permalinks in appropriate circumstances, as determined by LÜM in its sole discretion, and may, with or without prior notice, suspend or terminate your Account if activities occur on your Account that, in LÜM's sole discretion, would or might constitute a violation of this EULA, cause damage to or impair the Service, infringe or violate any third party rights, damage or bring into disrepute the reputation of LÜM, or violate any applicable laws or regulations. If messages sent to the e-mail address you provide are returned as undeliverable, then LÜM may terminate your Account immediately without notice to you and without any liability to you or any third party.
